Alexis Johnson is an Emmy-winning film editor based in New York City. Over the past decade, her work has screened at Sundance, Berlinale, SXSW, and the New York Film Festival and received distribution from networks and streamers worldwide. In 2020, she won the Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for Best Editing, alongside Lindy Jankura and Alex Keipper, for their work on Neon’s contemporary COVID documentary, Totally Under Control. In 2023, she was selected to be on DOC NYC’s 40 Under 40 List.

She is currently in development on a feature documentary and recently finished work on two forthcoming docuseries—MGM+’s The Wonderland Massacre & the Secret History of Hollywood and National Geographic’s Killer Lies: Chasing a True Crime Con Man.

Her past editing credits include Season 2 of HBO’s critically acclaimed docuseries 100 Foot Wave, the Netflix documentary Money Shot: The Pornhub Story (named one of the best documentaries of 2023 by Variety), Alex Gibney’s Taxi to the Dark Side follow-up The Forever Prisoner (winner of the 2022 News & Documentary Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Documentary), Showtime’s Peabody-nominated Kingdom of Silence, and The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley.
